Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, has congratulated Edith Hunzinger, the Seychelles Tourism Frankfurt-based Manager, for having worked alongside the private sector to secure a promotional campaign for the mid-ocean tropical islands, now the sought-after destination for German, Swiss, and Austrian holiday makers looking for sun, sea, and sand for their winter break.

โ€œEdith Hunzinger has delivered for our islands the success we can always achieve when we all pull together to increase visibility for our unique islands. Etihad Airways and Raffles Resort of Praslin supported the request made by Edith from our German Office, and two people will now fly to Seychelles to enjoy their dream holiday, and this only after Seychelles has been covered in two newspapers in Switzerland as part of a national contest with a Seychelles holiday as the ultimate prize,โ€ Alain St.Ange said.

The winners of a two-newspaper contest run in Switzerland last month are looking forward to a one-week holiday on the island of Praslin in the Seychelles, co-sponsored by Etihad Airways and the Raffles Praslin Seychelles Resort. The lucky winners were drawn from more than 17,000 contest entries by voice phone, text message, or via the Internet.

The contest first ran for eleven days (October 6-16) in 24 heures (24heures.ch) and for another 11 days (October 12-22) in Tribune de Genรจve (tdg.ch), 2 major newspapers with a combined circulation of 370,000 readers, published by Edipresse Publications S.A. in Geneva for the French-speaking part of Switzerland. This contest was simultaneously available on the newspapersโ€™ web sites, resulting in significant exposure for the Seychelles in this region in the heart of Europe.

โ€œThis campaign has proven, once again,โ€ commented Edith Hunzinger, regional manager for the Seychelles Tourism Board in Frankfurt and responsible for the Swiss market, โ€œthat we can move mountains if we pool our resources. This contest was sponsored 100 percent by our partners.โ€ Ms. Hunzinger is confident that it has given an already booming market another visibility boost.

The lucky winners who are traveling to the Seychelles are Christine Pรฉclard and Stรฉphanie Fracheboud. They each won two return tickets on Etihad Airways from Geneva via Abu Dhabi to the Seychelles plus 6 nightsโ€™ accommodation at the brand new Raffle Resort of Praslin.
