Didier Robert, the President de la region La Reunion, and Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and their marketing teams, took time last Sunday to look at the natural beauty of the Seychelles as seen from the sea to discuss twin destinations options that will see the spectacular mountains of La Reunion and the turquoise blue seas of the Seychelles promoted in a new package to the discerning visitors looking at the Indian Ocean islands or the Vanilla Islands.

Didier Robert and Pascal Viroleau, Head of the La Reunion Tourism, with seven of their sales and marketing team members are in Seychelles for a joint Tourism Marketing Meeting with the Seychelles Tourism Board who have brought back to the islands, managers from all their overseas offices.

Alain St.Ange and Didier Robert used a rubber zodiac to land on one of the deserted Seychelles beaches and allow his guest to appreciate the pristine environment of the Seychelles, which has over 50 percent of its total land area protected as national parks.

โ€œSeychelles and La Reunion island complement each other. The La Reunion islandโ€™s mountains with their volcano remains the green lush tropical gardens of the Indian Ocean, and when this is added on to a Seychelles holiday with its most spectacular clean turquoise blue seas and clean and white sandy beaches, the combination is perfect. We needed to get the La Reunion authorities to see it for themselves before we opened the 2011 Tourism Marketing Meeting where Seychelles and La Reunion will this year sit side by side to discuss cooperation and partnership,โ€ Alain St.Ange said.

On that day out to showcase the beauty of the Seychelles were Elsia Grandcourt, the Seychelles Tourism Boardโ€™s Deputy CEO; Jean Francois Adeline, the Boardโ€™s Financial Controller; Jennifer Loizeau, the Director of Administration; Bernadette Willemin, the Boardโ€™s European Director; Monette Rose, Director for Italy; Edith Hunzinger, Director for Germany; Julie Muirhead, Regional Director for the Middle East; Dong Jeong and Julie Kim from the Seychelles Korea Office; and Aliette Esther, the Seychelles Tourism Attache from the Abu Dhabi Office.

La Reunion and Seychelles are members of the International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP), a new grassroots travel and tourism coalition of global destinations committed to quality service and green growth.
