The Seychelles tourism trade, serious after the British market, traveled as a strong delegation to London to attend the 2011 World Travel Marekt (WTM). Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, accompanied by Bernadette Willemin, the Board’s European Director; Marsha Parcou, Manager of the Seychelles London Office; Lena Hoareau, Head of the Seychelles PR & News Bureau Office based in London; and Stephanie Medor, also from the Seychelles London Office, were joined by Air Seychelles, Air France, Banyan Tree Seychelles, Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino, Castello Beach Hotel, Cerf Island Resort, Coco de Mer Hotel, Creole Travel Services, Desroches Island, Dhevetara Beach Hotel, Eden Island Development Company (Seychelles) Limited, Fregate Private Island, Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort & Spa, Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa, Kempinski Seychelles Resort, Le Meridien Seychelles, Le Relax Beach Resort, Mason’s Travel (Pty) Ltd, Paradise Sun Hotel, Raffles Praslin Seychelles, Select-Seychelles, Seychelles Connect, Silhouette Cruises, and 7Degrees South.

The Seychelles tourism trade at WTM was out to reinforce the message that it had joined together to spell out their message that Britain remained an important market for the islands. After many years of stagnation, the British market has been turned around and is today showing a 7percent increase in visitor arrival figures over last year. “The Seychelles Tourism Trade wanting the British market, traveled with the Tourism Board to the UK and were on the Seychelles WTM stand in London,” said Alain St.Ange.

The Seychelles Tourism Board told the press in the UK that it is thankful for the support of its private sector, which has enabled it to again be present at WTM.
Connectivity between the Seychelles and the UK is no longer an issue, with many airlines now providing that service, and Seychelles is positioning itself as โ€œtheโ€ destination for honeymoons.
