On the occasion of the “Fete de Gastronomie” – the Culinary Feast – Executive Chef Cyril Carafano of Constance Lemuria Hotel Resort and Spa in the Seychelles organized a series of culinary activities for a number of apprenticeship students of the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA) who are following their courses at the STA Academy on Praslin.

A total of 24 year-one and year-two students from Praslin took part in the one-day event, which is celebrated around the world each September.

The students were accompanied by Natasha Omblime, the STA Head of Program on Praslin, with the support of Maxime Louise, the Head of Apprenticeship Scheme, and Monique Hoareau the STA Student Coordinator.

The students were able to revel from the expertise of Executive Chef Cyril and his team, which demonstrated all kinds of culinary techniques with chocolates, demonstration of food presentations, culinary preparation techniques, the high standard of practical hygiene to be used, nutritional norms to be followed, and motivational talks on the works of chefs.

“Being an executive chef is a noble job – respected and glamorous with international opportunities and very good salaries,” Executive Chef Cyril told the students present.

After the demonstration, all the apprentices and lecturers were then treated to a gastronomy delight.
