From 7-10 November leading players from the world’s ecotourism industry will gather in Sydney for Ecotourism Australia’s 19th annual Global Eco Asia-Pacific Tourism Conference.
NSW Minister for Environment and Heritage Ms. Robyn Parker said “around 300 national and international delegates would attend the conference, which is hosted by NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service. “
Held over two venues, Day One of the conference, at the Australian National Maritime Museum, features the popular Indigenous Tourism Forum that will examine the opportunities, tools and methods for building Indigenous businesses in the tourism industry. The inaugural ASEAN and OCEANIA Tourism Forum also features on Day One and will address the immense rate at which ecotourism is emerging in this region and how this opportunity can be maximised.
For the succeeding three days the conference will continue at Taronga Zoo with national and international leaders examining opportunities and best practice across ecotourism, sustainability, Indigenous tourism, tourism in protected areas, partnerships and conservation.
“With the conference being held over multiple venues around the Harbour, Sydney will be on show to delegates from around the globe demonstrating its leading commitment to conserving and protecting the natural, cultural and built heritage, said Minister Parker.
Leading national and international speakers include the CEO of World Expeditions, Sue Badyari; young multiple award winning entrepreneur Amy Carter-James; China expert Glen Hingley; and CFO of NYC Economic Development Corporation Kyle Kimball.
