JetBlue Airways Corp. will be the official domestic airline of the Los Angeles Dodgers under a sponsorship deal announced Monday, according to a report in the Sports Business Daily.
The deal is airline’s first with a Major League Baseball team, according to the report. The airline does sponsor the Los Angeles Clippers of the NBA and the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.
The effort will include print and online ads, e-mail marketing and JetBlue features on DodgersVision, as well as contests, giveaways and discounts off JetBlue airfare for fans attending select Dodgers home games.
As part of the deal, JetBlue will receive outfield and home plate signage, and might have a Dodgers-branded aircraft.
The deal is set to run through 2010.
JetBlue serves Long Beach Municipal Airport, Ontario International Airport and Burbank’s Bob Hope Airport. The airline was set to being service out of Los Angeles International Airport on May 21, but recently canceled those plans.
