ICTP welcomes Grenada as their first Caribbean member

The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced today that the Grenada Board of Tourism has joined their alliance as the first representative from the Caribbean.

The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced today that the Grenada Board of Tourism has joined their alliance as the first representative from the Caribbean.

“Grenada is proud to be the first Caribbean representative to ICTP, and we look forward to sharing resources with our worldwide partners in the development of new markets for our tourism product. As part of this global alliance, we share in the belief that travel and tourism is a key driver in the creation of community businesses, jobs, well-being, and happiness. We also share ICTP’s commitment to green growth by creating low-carbon and environmentally-sound developments,” said Simon Stiell, Director of Tourism for Grenada.

After the Seychelles, La Reunion, Johannesburg, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Oman, Hawaii, Saipan, the International Council of Tourism Partners is now expanding their list of founding members to include Grenada.

ICTP Chairman Juergen T. Steinmetz said: “We’re delighted to welcome Grenada to our fast-growing alliance and force of socially-responsible destinations committed to sustainable travel. The synergy of the ICTP alliance will enable even the smallest destination to create ongoing awareness in both primary and secondary global tourism markets. Grenada demonstrates leadership for the Caribbean in joining our alliance.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Grenada and leaders representing all our members at the World Travel Market to introduce their destination at our official launch party on November 8 at 1600 hours at the Seychelles stand.”
