DANANG, Vietnam – Crowne Plaza, the fourth largest upscale brand in the world, today opened its second property in Vietnam at the coastal city of Danang.
Located along the picturesque Danang Sea coastline, the 535-guestroom Crowne Plaza Danang is the largest hotel in Central Vietnam by room count and offers both business and leisure travellers an upscale hotel option in an ideal location. The hotel is 15 minutes away from the Danang international airport and only a few kilometers to the heart of the city’s most popular attractions. These include UNESCO World Heritage sites such as the former imperial city, Hue and the scenic Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park.
“Vietnam has seen a steady increase in international and regional visitors, at a growth rate of about ten percent year-on-year. A strong tourism market plus a booming MICE segment gives us incredible confidence in growing and developing our presence here,” said Alan Watts, vice president of operations for Southeast Asia in IHG. This is the Group’s fifth property in Vietnam and its second Crowne Plaza hotel, after successfully launching the upscale brand with the Crowne Plaza West Hanoi.
Crowne Plaza Danang was rebranded from the former Silver Shores International Resort. The hotel’s facilities and service culture now reflect the standards of the Crowne Plaza brand, which has nearly 400 hotels in key locations across the globe.
The newly rebranded hotel, with its 2,500 square meters of meeting space is also well positioned to cater to the requirements of the fast-growing MICE sector.
Large guest rooms with minimum size of 36 square meters overlook the ocean on one side and the Danang city on the other. The main lobby, function rooms, restaurant, bars and service areas occupy two and three storey pavilions surrounded by a spacious swimming pool and tropical gardens. It offers visitors and families coming to Danang a variety of recreation facilities, including water sports and a dedicated Kids Club. Its restaurants and bars offer a wide variety of culinary options, including Cantonese, Japanese, Korean and international cuisines.
As the country’s fourth largest city and third largest commercial port, Danang plays a key strategic role as the economic, cultural and tourism hub of central Vietnam – on the back of anticipated growth in business travel and MICE opportunities.
“The opening of Crowne Plaza Danang adds vibrancy into the Vietnamese economy. With its central location – with links to the capital city of Hanoi in the north and Ho Chi Minh in the south – Danang is experiencing an upswing economic momentum,” said William Lau, general manager, Crowne Plaza Danang. “While we continue to grow our business, including having the opportunity to host more MICE events in Danang, we also look forward to creating more jobs for local residents. We are delighted to be able to contribute to the fast pace of tourism development in Danang.”
Crowne Plaza Danang offers flexible meeting and event room options, from an intimate gathering of 10 to a large banquet of about 640 people. “We have meetings-savvy products and services that only a Crowne Plaza can provide. For instance, with our Crowne Meeting Director, a dedicated and single point of contact to assist organisers personally from start to finish, we are always confident to deliver successful meetings,” added Lau.
An introductory offer from US$125, for stay at Crowne Plaza Danang, is now available for reservations, and inquiries can be made via its designated website www.crowneplaza.com/danang and IHG central reservation centers.
