As part of Minor Hotel Group’s global expansion of diverse quality brands, the launch of Avani Hotels & Resorts, which is a refreshing upscale hotel concept, will consolidate Minor’s presence in city and resort locations across Asia, Australia, the Middle East, and Africa.
Minor’s new hotel venture stems from a keen insight and understanding of a gap for a niche brand that delivers innovative guest experiences that are fresh and grounded and focuses on the details that truly count.
“Avani” stems from the Sanskrit word for “earth” – a meaning which is expressed through a grounded personality and simple sense of style. Offering relaxed contemporary inspired comfort to guests who value the details that matter, each unique location exhibits a passion for design that is evident in the quality of the décor, alongside an emphasis on carefully tailoring details to deliver complete guest satisfaction.
Avani’s service ethic further exemplifies its inspiring principles by placing a high value on a genuine welcome, and through staff who respond to each guest’s individual needs to ensure memorable, meaningful experiences. As such, Avani focuses on flawless journeys, listening to what matters most and making sure that every requirement is realized. In short, an Avani experience feels effortless, fusing a timeless essence with the relevance of a contemporary lifestyle to create a spontaneous and highly-flexible approach to the overall guest journey.
Avani is bringing this philosophy to life firstly in Sri Lanka through a unique beachfront resort, introducing sophisticated travelers to the country’s rich natural and cultural beauty, and showcasing a resourceful attitude to resort experiences. Avani Bentota Resort & Spa will be fully completed by late 2011, and is located along Sri Lanka’s golden southern shores.
To offer a choice of destinations, Avani will also launch a second Sri Lankan resort in 2012. Avani Kalutara Resort is situated at the tip of the Kalu Ganga river mouth in Kalutara and will feature 105 modern and comfortable rooms.
The brainchild of Bill Heinecke, CEO and Chairman of Minor International, and Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotel Group, Avani draws upon Minor’s familiarity and expertise of its Asian roots. Following the brand’s initial two openings, which cement Minor’s presence in Sri Lanka, Avani will then capitalize on Minor’s experience further afield by opening additional properties in Asia, Australia, the Indian Ocean, Middle East, and Africa. The launch of the Avani brand complements Minor Hotels Group’s existing 5-star Anantara brand by creating a portfolio of diverse hotel experiences.
Dillip Rajakarier commented, “The launch of Avani serves as a two-edged sword in Minor’s expansion roll out. The refreshing new brand carves a dynamically different pathway for our group by offering a unique hotel concept, as well as adding to our successful global growth.”
