Ethiopian Airlines will soon start operating a new flight bound for the Seychelles islands from Addis Ababa.

The airline has filed for slots to fly to the Indian Ocean islands of Seychelles during the winter 2011-2012 schedule, which is the period starting October 30, 2011 to March 24, 2012. It will operate one flight per week on Sundays, landing in Seychelles at 3:00 pm in the afternoon and departing at 4:00 pm.

The flagship of Ethiopia, the airline is one of Africaโ€™s leading carriers, which has an unrivaled reputation for efficiency and operational success.
Ethiopian Airline commands a big share of the pan Africa network, as well as the only daily east-west flight across the continent. The airline currently operates in 63 international destinations.

In Europe, it operates in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the UK. It also flies to the US and the Middle East, which includes the destination of Bahrain, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Yemen. While in Asia, Ethiopian Airlines flies to China, India, and Thailand.

2011 has seen the biggest increase in airline capacity to Seychelles. Ethiopian Airlines will be the second African carrier to include Seychelles into its network. Kenya Airways is already offering three weekly flights to Seychelles from Nairobi in Kenya. November 2011 will also see Etihad Airline from the UAE launch its own four weekly flights to Seychelles.
