HONOLULU, Hawaii – Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI), Honolulu Chapter, is proud to announce that Mark Dunkerley, President and CEO of Hawaiian Airlines, will be a guest speaker at a dinner meeting on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at The Kahala Hotel & Resort. The program will focus on Hawaiian Airline’s brand recognition program, its unique company culture, and expansion to new markets.

Mr. Dunkerley is an award-winning pilot who has led Hawaiian to become an industry leader in operations, customer service, and financial performance during some of the most turbulent times in airline history.

Now in its 82nd year of service, Hawaiian is the 11th largest airline in the nation and employs over 4,000 travel professionals. The company has been rated the best carrier serving Hawaii by Zagat’s, Travel and Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler magazines alongside numerous industry awards. This event is sponsored by Pacific Business News, Hawaiian Airlines, and Maui Divers.

Prior to joining Hawaiian, Mr. Dunkerley was Chief Operating Officer of the Sabena Airlines Group in Brussels, Belgium. He also served as President and COO of one of the largest providers of ground services to airlines at airports worldwide. In addition, Mark held a variety of management positions for British Airways including senior vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean. Mr. Dunkerley currently serves on the Boards of Directors for the Air Transport Association of America, Hawai’i Visitors and Convention Bureau, and Hawai’i Business Roundtable.

Since its inception in 1948, SMEI, Honolulu Chapter, has been hosting learning and networking opportunities for sales and marketing executives.
