Oman Air has unveiled its plans to operate flights to Moscow and Zurich from India. The service will be starting from October 2011. According to Sunil VA, Country Manager – South India, Oman Air, the airline will operate four flights a week to both destinations with a stopover in Muscat, and will use Airbus A330 aircraft. However, he refused to specify the cities in India from which these flights will operate, or the date of the operationsโ€™ launch. Currently, Oman Air operates flights from six destinations in India i.e. Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Calicut.

โ€œAs part of our network expansion plan, we will soon launch flights to Moscow and Zurich in October from India this year. We also have a few more East-bound routes under consideration. With more aircraft joining the fleet and with increase in capacity/frequency on the existing routes, our focus will be to expand our market-base by building visibility and organising marketing activities in all our online markets. Our marketing focus will be targeted at specific audiences who are conducive to our products, and focus on promoting Oman as a destination,โ€ stated Sunil VA.
