Zagreb films win awards at International Tourism Film Festival

ZAGREB, Croatia – Promotional movies “Zagreb, Zagreb“ and “Moonlight sonata Zagreb,“ were awarded the Grand prix Italia prize in the category of tourist spot, at the just completed 47th International Tourism Film Festival in the Italian city of Lecce, in Puglia province.

Also, the special award for the career in tourism was awarded to Ms. Amelia Tomašević, PhD, the director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, and she considers this award to be a great recognition for her in achievements tourism.

The tourfilm festival was founded in 1962, and its founder, and until this year the President (now Honorary), is a renowned journalist – Mr. Antonio Conte from Rome. Under the auspices of ENIT (the national tourism organization of Italy), the festival is organized by the European Federation of Tourism Journalists, the European team for the tourism, and the Region Lecce.

Alongside these awards, the Zagreb Tourist Board won the Arara de Bronze (Bronze arar) for the film “Zagreb, Zagreb,“ in the category of people, cultures, and traditions on the International Tourist Film Festival Tourfilm Brazil 2011. The recognition was given to the Ambassador to Brazil, HE Drago Stambuk, PhD, on May 21, at the gala ceremony in the Brazilian city of Florianopolis.

The Zagreb Tourist Board is pleased with the success achieved, which shows that the profession recognizes and appreciates the hard professional work in the promotion of Zagreb as a tourist and congress destination.
