Nicholas Borg, Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for the Malta-based multi-brand hotel management company, CHI Hotels and Resorts (CHI), the operating company for Corinthia Hotels, was selected to serve on the international Board of Directors of the Africa Travel Association (ATA) at the 36th International Conference held in Dakar, Senegal, May 25-29, 2011. ATA is the premier international professional travel-industry association promoting tourism to Africa.

Borg said, “I am very pleased to represent CHI on the ATA Board, especially since CHI is on an expansion track in Africa through its joint venture agreement to operate the Wyndham and Ramada Brands in Africa, as well as managing its own Corinthia Hotels luxury brand.”

In his present position, Borg is responsible for the Mediterranean, Middle East, and African regions, where he takes an active role in promoting the destinations and drives the sales teams in the relevant countries. He is also engaged in field activity in the main European and Middle East markets. Borg has over 31 years experience in hospitality management and has, over the years, occupied several senior management positions in Malta and North African Regions. He also pioneered and implemented Corinthia Hotel’s “Events at Corinthia” MICE dedicated program throughout the chain.
