Info France, in a report on exceptional careers of women, brought out activities of Marie-Laure Viebel, the wife of famous Dominique de Villepin of France. The program entitled the “The Rounded Sensual Sculptures by Marie-Laure Viebel,” brings out the fact that it is now four years since she left the impressive quarters of the Matignon Offices of Paris to settle herself in her very own workshop.

The information now revealed states that Marie-Laure Viebel, the discreet wife of Dominique de Villepin, today operates from her artist workshop where she has decided to change her lifestyle to develop her sculpture abilities. Marie-Laure Viebel has turned the unique Seychelles Coco de Mer nut into a work of art covered with gold, or bronze, or glass.

The Coco de Mer is the sensual double nut that only grows in the Seychelles. This very special and endemic nut is often called the love nut because of the unique shape of the female nut. The Coco de Mer grows on the Island of Praslin in the Vallee de Mai or the Garden of Eden. Marie-Laure Viebel says that it is this net that has inspired her.

โ€œThe unique shape of this nut – round and pleasing – touches me probably because I am a woman. Behind it all, these could be the idea of a mother, the life cycle, the birth. I was also taken after touching them, and in working these shapes today, this unique feeling comes to life,โ€ said Marie-Laure Viebel, wife of Franceโ€™s Dominique de Villepin.

The works of art of Marie-Laure Viebel is currently on show in Venise.
