MIAMI, Florida – GlobalStar Travel Management announced today at its 9th Annual Conference at the Hotel Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove Miami the appointment of CCRA Travel Solutions as the preferred hotel supplier for its global partner network and HotelStar product. Under this new agreement, CCRAโ€™s Negotiated Hotel Rate Program becomes the preferred GDS hotel program for GlobalStar partners -linking potentially over 3,300+ office locations worldwide to the CCRA-negotiated rates in the GDS. CCRA will also develop GlobalStarโ€™s branded hotel reservations system, โ€œHotelStar,โ€ which will provide GlobalStar partners with access to CCRAโ€™s extensive hotel inventory and 5 commissionable rate booking categories by summer 2011.

โ€œWe researched and reviewed many negotiated rate providers in order to offer our partners the ‘Best in Class’ product for competing in a global marketplace,โ€ said Steve Hartwell, GlobalStar President. โ€œCCRAโ€™s combined offering of extensive hotel inventory of real-time availability and rates along with their proprietary reservation technology, make them the ideal hotel distribution partner for our global network โ€“ perfectly aligned to meet the needs of our partners worldwide.โ€

Added Dic Marxen, President and CEO of CCRA: โ€œGlobalStar has chosen to capitalize on the technology investment CCRA has made in developing CCRAtravel.com, our proprietary booking portal that features up to 5 categories of real-time rates and inventory at over 160,000 hotels worldwide. HotelStar will be the ideal alternative for GlobalStar partners seeking competitive rates at the most comprehensive inventory of hotel product outside the GDS.โ€

CCRAโ€™s 2011 Corporate Rate Hotel Program features rates at over 32,000 properties in 149 countries spanning the globe. Over the next several weeks, CCRA will be working with GlobalStar to link their office locations to the CCRA negotiated rate in the GDS. CCRA has also agreed to develop a branded reservation system for GlobalStar, which will be marketed under the name HotelStar. Moreover, through HotelStar, GlobalStar partners will have direct access to blocked space at over 60,000 hotels.

The HotelStar booking portal will be available to GlobalStar partners during summer 2011.
