PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – World Airways, a subsidiary of Global Aviation Holdings Inc., has entered into an agreement with Finnair Cargo to provide MD-11F all-cargo flights serving Helsinki, Shanghai and New York beginning June 15, 2011. The new service is to operate twice a week using World’s traffic rights.
“World Airways welcomes the opportunity to provide capacity with this long-range MD-11 cargo service,” said Brian Bauer, Chief Commercial Officer. “Cooperating with Finnair Cargo’s extensive international network adds an exciting element to World.”
“We have already achieved recognition among our cargo customers in China and Europe for Finnair’s daily passenger flight service to Shanghai and are now welcoming our new freighter service,” said Pertti Mero, Vice President Global Sales for Finnair Cargo. “Viewed from Shanghai, the new freighter services offer connections to Northern Europe and also provide fast services from Northern Europe to Shanghai. In addition to Shanghai flights, more capacity to New York is welcomed.”
