BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Nothing tugs at the heart strings like a wedding. And nothing feeds the soul and creates joy like a Caribbean wedding.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Nothing tugs at the heart strings like a wedding. And nothing feeds the soul and creates joy like a Caribbean wedding.

Well, thousands of New Yorkers and visitors to the “Big Apple” will get to experience the joy and romance of a Caribbean wedding in the heart of New York City.

There’ll be romance in the air when Leticia Young and Raymond Mohan exchange vows in a live Caribbean wedding at Vanderbilt Hall, Grand Central. The two were selected after a contest that was promoted on http://www.MarryCaribbean.com, twitter, Facebook, and other social networks. Couples were required to write in about how they met and why the Caribbean was their dream honeymoon destination.

“We both have Caribbean roots and have travelled the region extensively. We are confident that we could promote the region in a passionate and authentic way,” said Ms. Young.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Mr. Mohan is a highly esteemed Caribbean Executive Chef. He is presently the Executive Chef of the landmark restaurant – The Coffee Shop – in Union Square, Manhattan and commands a kitchen staff of over 100 people.

The wedding is being planned by MarryCaribbean.com, the internet’s most complete listing of Caribbean destination wedding and honeymoon resources, as part of the schedule of activities for Caribbean Week in New York organized by the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

“Love is the fuel that continues to drive the high profile and profitable romance market to the Caribbean. One of the main reasons people visit the Caribbean is for romance, whether it is for a honeymoon, a destination wedding or a much needed romantic interlude,” said Jacqueline Johnson, the president and CEO of Global Bridal Group (http://www.GlobalBridalGroup.com), under which MarryCaribbean.com falls. “What would a Caribbean Week in New York be without the highlight and drama of this much sought after event? I am delighted to share my love of romance and the Caribbean with this wonderful couple.”
