HotelClub today announced 20 winners from the United Kingdom and Ireland in the HotelClub Hotel Awards 2011 (http://www.hotelclub.com/hotel-awards).

HotelClub Hotel Awards – marking their 5th year in 2011 – is the flagship programme from HotelClub that will this year honour outstanding hotels around the world in a range of categories which are designed to highlight unique local experiences. Nine hotels were recognised in London from categories ranging from ‘Best Place for Celeb Spotting’ to ‘Best Place for London Dry Gin.’ With us all in the wedding spirit after Prince William and Kate’s nuptials, hotels in greater England received recognition in the category, ‘Best for Romantic Rendezvous.’ While on the back of England’s ashes win, other greater England hotels were acknowledged as ‘Best for Test Cricket.’

Since Scotland itself is known as the birthplace of golf and haggis, five Scottish hotels were recognised in categories ranging from ‘Best Place for a Haggis Breakfast’ to ‘Best Tee Off and 19th Hole.’ And finally, in recognizing all things Irish, three hotels in Ireland have been honoured in categories from ‘Best Place to Enjoy a Guinness’ to ‘Best Place to Stay for the Gaelic Games.’

John Ryan, HotelClub’s Vice President of Hotel Services, comments: “HotelClub sends our heartiest congratulations to all the winners of the Hotel Awards 2011. They have risen to the top based on unbiased reviews by members, as well as objective assessments by HotelClub’s team of experts in categories that represent local experiences which our members value while travelling to new destinations. We look forward to enduring partnerships with the winners over the next 12 months and beyond.”

In addition, the winning hotels will be listed on HotelClub’s Hotel Awards mini-site (http://www.hotelclub.com/hotel-awards/) and will be flagged in HotelClub’s search results with a special hotel awards ribbon. HotelClub will also promote the hotels through social media including blogs, Facebook and Twitter.

The extensive awards promotion ultimately benefits travellers in helping them make better informed choices on their hotel bookings. Travellers are further rewarded when booking with HotelClub through the pioneering HotelClub Rewards Program, where every booking made earns them HotelClub Member Dollars, which can be used on their next booking.

Mr. Ryan concludes, “These categories were designed to provide insight on favourite local experiences. HotelClub is pleased to offer greater detail through the HotelClub Hotel Awards for travellers to make informed decisions on the hotels they select when travelling.”
