Mr. Gerd Steeb announced the appointment of Mr. Ian McDonald Cameron as General Manager of Centara Grand Beach Resort & Spa Boracay, Philippines.

Mr. Cameron, 49, of British nationality, has enjoyed a long career in the hospitality business, having trained at Scotland’s prestigious Gleneagles Hotel before moving to Asia, where he worked in Hong Kong and then in Indonesia. He was food and beverage manager at the Hilton Egypt before going to South Korea and then to Bangkok. He also spent several years as leaseholder and general manager of the Falcon Hotel, a traditional coaching inn style of hotel in Uppingham, England.

Prior to joining Centara Grand Beach Resort & Spa Boracay, Philippines, Mr. Cameron was General Manager of Centara Villas Samui for 2 years.

“The owners of the property, New Coast Properties, Inc (NPI), have some very exciting investment and development plans for the resort that will see a great expansion in the facilities, and we are working closely with them to help ensure seamless progress,” said Mr. Steeb.

Centara Grand Beach Resort & Spa Boracay is the largest on the island of Boracay, a combined beach and golf resort complex spread over 127 hectares and with over one kilometer of beachfront, including three coves. The 18-hole golf course is designed by Graham Marsh, and there are 246 rooms and suites.
