Pluna will link Mar del Plata with other Latin American cities
Pluna will operate direct flights between Mar del Plata and several Latin American capitals, which would make up part of the promotion of the main Argentine resort town.
TAM will fly weekly from Bariloche to Brazil
In mid-June, there will be two direct flights per week from Bariloche to Sao Paulo with an Airbus 320 on Thursdays and Sundays. This will enable rapid connections with the northern hemisphere, particularly with Europe and the United States.
Pluna plans hub in Montevideo
Pluna plans to convert the airport of Montevideo into a regional hub and transport passengers to it from inside Argentina, as well as reinforce the shuttle service between Buenos Aires and Montevideo and offer some promotions starting from US$ 7 per flight.
Iberia would fly to Asuncion
Iberia is studying the possibility of returning to Paraguay due to the improvement of airport taxes which is being carried out through the formation of an Inter-Institutional Commission. Its objective is to promote and strengthen commercial air traffic in order to place Paraguay as a center for air distribution of cargo and passengers.
VRG suspends flights to Europe
VRG will stop flying to Madrid on May 21st and to Paris on June 9th, thus suspending all of its flights to Europe. Gol announced the suspension of operations to Mexico City as of May 11th as part of a plan to restructure the international network which will try to adapt VRG to market conditions and expand its presence in the local market and in South America.
Pluna requests authorization to fly between Curitiba and Montevideo
Pluna requested authorization to fly daily between Curitiba and Montevideo as of June 18th, with an extension to Buenos Aires.
OceanAir will stop flying to Mexico
OceanAir temporarily suspended its flights to Mexico. In addition, it will transfer part of its fleet to Avianca, as part of an integration process of both companies.
Destination Brazil Showcase in Rio

Taca, expansion in the country
Taca informed that it will fly directly from Rio to Lima and that its expansion within the country will begin in Rio de Janeiro with operations planned to fly to Porto Alegre, Manaus and the northeast, as well as alliances with Brazilian airlines.
Luxury train departs on April 23rd
Great Brasil Express will begin services on the 23rd of this month. Luxury Properties will open its first hotel in Cusco
Luxury Properties, a new Italian group, will open its first hotel in Cusco. In May, 16 luxury suites will increase the location’s offer for this sector of the market. It will include a three-floor spa and a gourmet restaurant. Additionally, they also hope to open a hotel in Lima as well as in the Patagonia and other Latin American destinations.
Archaeological park inaugurated in Quito

Flights to Lima by LAN and Taca

The new flight, which will arrive on May 5th, completes Iberia’s offer, which used to fly to Panama on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. With the new frequency there will be 14,000 new seats available weekly on the Madrid-Panama route, an increase of 27 percent.
9,000 rooms expected to be built in the next five years
Panama’s tourism industry is planning the construction of 9,000 rooms in the next five years, informed the president of the Hotel Association.
$10 million hotel begins operations
Playa Tortuga Hotel and Beach Resort began operations in Isla Colon, Bocas del Toro with an investment of over US$ 10 million. It has 119 rooms, two restaurants, two auditoriums for its events and meetings, and a gymnasium, among other attractions.
Air Dominicana will begin flights on May 2nd
As of May 2nd, Air Dominicana will begin flights with two Boeing B737s which will be based in Punta Cana, from which they will operate flights to Venezuela and Colombia, and after three months, they will arrive in Puerto Rico and Miami.
Construction of hotel with US$ 240 million investment
With an investment of US$ 240 million, the luxury hotel chain Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will construct a 225 room hotel in the Roco Residential and Tourism complex. The Fairmont Roco Ki will include a Fairmont Residences complex with condominiums and villas and the private club Fairmount Heritage Place.
Taca will begin direct connection with South America

United would fly from Los Angeles
The United States DOT suggested authorizing United Airlines to begin new flights between Los Angeles and San Jose del Cabo. The service would be functional as soon as Frontier Services suspends its flights before the end of the month.
AeroMexico would make direct flights to China at the end of May
The first direct flight between China and Mexico will be inaugurated on May 29th, according to an official from the AeroMexico air company in Shanghai.
