Seychelles becomes “it” destination for Asia and Australasia

Myrna Michel, the Seychelles Director for Asia & Australasia, has been working on raising the Seychelles islands’ profile in the region since the opening of a Seychelles Office in Singapore last year. “The winning of this award confirms that Seychelles has become the ‘it’ destination for Asia and Australasia,” Myrna Michel said.

The Seychelles islands won the “Best Overall Travel Experience” Award at the 2011 Australasia Scuba Diver Ocean Awards in Singapore. Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, was personally in Singapore leading the island delegation to the ADEX Dive Show when the award was announced.

Alain St.Ange thanked John Thet, the Publisher for the Asia Geographic Magazine Team, and their readers for choosing the Seychelles as the “Best Overall Travel Experience” Destination. “We are honored to accept the award, and we assure Asia and Australasia as a whole that Seychelles continues to be the dream destination because we care, and because our government remains serious custodians of our natural assets that continue to protect and safeguard our unique selling points, which attracts visitors to our shores,” Alain St.Ange said after being presented with the “Best Overall Travel Experience” Destination Award.

Seychelles was represented at the ADEX Dive Show in Singapore by a delegation from the Tourism Board, Air Seychelles, and by Mason’s Travel and Elizabeth Fideria, the local Diving Specialist.
