LIBERTYVILLE, Illinois – TourCrafters is offering a new 11-night coach tour – Rome and the Jewels of the South โ€” with departures on eleven Tuesdays from May 17 to October 11. The tour includes round-trip air from New York, fuel surcharge, arrival transfer, half-day guided tour of Rome, daily buffet breakfasts, three lunches, six dinners, a free gelato in Rome, ground transportation by deluxe motorcoach, service charges and taxes, escort during the tour portion, local guides, entrance fees, and sightseeing as specified in the itinerary.

Also covered are accommodations in 4-star hotels: four nights at the Crowne Plaza Rome-St. Peterโ€™s Hotel and Spa (which is like a resort hotel with swimming pool and tennis courts); six nightsโ€™ accommodation (including the Grand Hotel Vesuvio in Sorrento, which overlooks the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius) while on tour; and one night at the centrally-located Hotel Politeama in Palermo.

The tour visits Rome, of course, and Naples, Pompeii, and Sorrento. A day trip to Capri, including a visit to the Blue Grotto comes next. Then on to Rende in Calabria, known for its Aragonese castles. And finally Sicily, with free time in the beautiful town of Taormina, an excursion up Mt. Etna, sightseeing in the historic city of Siracusa, a guided visit to the Roman villas in Piazza Armerina, time in Agrigentoโ€™s Valley of the Temples, a guided visit to the Moorish/Norman-style Monreale Cathedral, finishing with a farewell lunch in Palermo and the flight home.

The price of the Rome and the Jewels of the South tour is lowest in September (US$3,035, highest in May/June (US$3,529), and in between in summer (US$3,395 to US$3,490). Airport taxes of approximately US$115 are not included because they are subject to change and depend on the departure city. All prices are per person, double occupancy, and are subject to availability. Reservations must be paid for within 72 hours of booking.
