American Eagle launches nonstop Dallas-Mazatlan service

FORT WORTH, Texas – American Eagle Airlines, the regional affiliate of American Airlines, announces daily nonstop jet service effective June 9 from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Mazatlan International Airport in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico, subject to government approval. American Eagle will fly the route with 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jet aircraft.

“We are pleased to expand American’s network in Mexico with flights to and from Mazatlan,” said Gary Foss, Vice President of Marketing and Planning for American’s regional network. “These daily nonstop flights will link Mazatlan to the world through American’s largest hub, offering convenient connections throughout the oneworld® global network.”

“This announcement is important because it confirms the strength of our nation as a leisure destination at an international level,” said Gloria Guevara Manzo, Mexico’s Minister of Tourism. “My administration will keep working to increase service to all of Mexico’s desirable destinations.”

Mazatlan is Mexico’s largest seaport and is a popular port of call for cruise lines. While the city is a bustling commercial center, Mazatlan’s beaches offer a slower, more relaxed seaside ambience.

Together, American Airlines and American Eagle will now serve 18 destinations throughout Mexico with more than 300 weekly flights. In addition to Morelia and Mazatlan beginning June 9, other destinations include Acapulco, Aguascalientes, Cancun, Chihuahua, Cozumel, Guadalajara, Leon (Guanajuato), Los Cabos, Mexico City, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Torreon, Veracruz and Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo.
