Overseas press taken by Seychelles carnival

The press from the four corners of the world have started reporting on the successes of the 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria,” and this is bringing unprecedented visibility to the Creole islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean.

The launch of the Seychelles carnival was held on March 4, and the big carnival parade took place on March 5 along the main streets of Victoria. “Participation in Victoria was overwhelming, and Seychelles put forward its best welcome for all the visiting delegations and participating countries,” said Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board.

President James Michel personally launched the carnival 2011, and the rendezvous has been planned by all the participants of this year’s carnival to be in Seychelles for the 2nd edition of the “Canaval International de Victoria,” which will be held from March 2-4, 2012.

Seychelles has launched a different carnival, Alain St.Ange said, to the 39 members of the overseas press who had traveled to Seychelles to cover the island’s first carnival. “We are offering to the world a carnival of carnivals, because we are after every good carnival to be parading their own float in our carnival and be together with the community of nations in an event called the melting pot of cultures,” Alain St.Ange said.
