With just four days left for the 2011 Seychelles “Carnival International de Victoria,” the Seychelles Broadcasting Corporation (SBC) will be screening a special carnival program on TV on Monday, February 28 at 9:00 pm. This is an indication of the importance of the coming 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria” for the country. In his State of The Nation Address last Friday afternoon, Seychelles President James Michel, who personally holds the portfolio for tourism, listed the coming carnival as one of the major events that will be staged in Seychelles in 2011.

The Seychelles TV Station has announced that the panel for this special television program will consist of the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Alain St.Ange; the Consultant and Coordinator of the 2011 Seychelles Carnival, Nigel Henri; and a representative from the Police Department. Through questions from host Raymond Clarisse, they will give viewers a rundown on the 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria” that will take place from March 4 through 6.

Mr. St.Ange will be answering questions on hosting the carnival, more particularly about the various activities and international participants that are coming here to join in on this big event in Victoria. Mr. Henri, as the consultant and coordinator, will be giving viewers some insights on the logistics of the carnival and other activities taking place this weekend and will also trace the carnival procession route for the benefit of viewers.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Police Department will be giving an overview regarding the closure of roads prior to and during the carnival weekend and the areas that will be available for the members of the public for parking, as well as to remind them of safety procedures during the busy weekend. Bearing in mind that the main road of Victoria will be closed from mid-week for the setting up of the stage for the opening ceremony right in front of the Clock Tower in the center of Victoria, the Seychelles Police are keen to keep everyone adequately updated.

Alain St.Ange said to SBC that the size of this event is set to surprise every Seychellois and Seychelles. “We are just saying that it will be clearly the ‘mother of all events’ Seychelles has ever organized,” he stated, as he invited everyone not to miss the three days of celebrations starting with the opening ceremony by the President of the Republic at 6:00 pm on March 4.
