Kate Hamman in “More from SmarterTravel.com in the USA” has voted Anse Lazio, the known and popular beach on Praslin in the Seychelles as one of the top 10 beach destinations.

The article says, “When the temperatures drop and the hassles of everyday life start to overwhelm, it’s comforting to know we can escape to the warm sun and surf of a beach.” Kate Hamman says that luckily, there are great beach destinations located in all corners of the globe, and she says, “You’re bound to find one that’s a perfect fit for you.”

With that in mind, Kate Hamman and her publication asked their readers to scour the world for 10 places that embody the perfect beach getaway for 2011. Anse Lazio in the Seychelles came out on top of the list, and a picture by “Thinkstock/iStockphoto” depicted the winning beach.

With Emirates Airlines increasing its daily flights to Seychelles, it’s easier than ever to visit the archipelago in the Indian Ocean. Readers recommended
Anse Lazio on Praslin, Seychelles’ second largest island, for an ideal beach getaway. Nestled in Chevalier Bay, Anze Lazio feels like a hidden oasis, thanks to the giant granite boulders that shelter its white sandy beach and bright turquoise sea. The shoreline remains largely untouched by buildings, aside from a few beach bars and restaurants located back among the palm trees, and a coral reef that keeps the waters calm also makes for an ideal snorkeling and swimming spot.

Sanur Beach in Bali was voted in second place, followed by Hahei Beach in New Zealand, and Maui Beach in Hawaii.

Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board and eTurboNews Ambassador, said on receiving results of the Hamman Survey that Seychelles was happy to see that one of their known unique selling points was again receiving world recognition. “As we accept the results of that survey with humility, we know that we have the best clean white sandy beaches, but we are also out to increase our country’s visibility by moving to get all our niche markets known, and this we are actively pursuing by organizing international events in Seychelles to ensure that visiting press and participants learn about our islands and then leave our shores as real ambassadors of our unique group of islands,” Alain St.Ange said.

One such majar event being organized in Seychelles is the 2011 Seychelles “Carnaval International de Victoria,” which will be officially opened on March 4 just after the Seychelles Annual Eco-Healing Marathon at the end of February. Both these events will see participants arrive in Seychelles coming from the four corners of the world.

Other surveys included: Ten Hidden Romantic Places, America’s Most Unforgettable Pies, and The Seven Deadly Airline Fees, among others.
