NEW YORK – In celebration of the “Year of the Rabbit,” the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) will present the 16th Cathay Pacific International Chinese New Year Night Parade on the first evening of the Chinese New Year โ€“ Feb. 3.

Hong Kong enjoys a reputation for its vibrant Chinese New Year celebrations, which provide the perfect setting for the HKTB to roll out its new annual marketing platform- themed to its status as “World City” โ€“ to showcase Hong Kong’s cosmopolitan appeal and multifaceted tourism attractions to potential U.S. and other visitors worldwide.

The parade will feature an all-star line-up of 36 performing groups from 11 countries and regions, including 13 elaborately decorated floats and 23 performing troupes, 12 of them international and 11 local. Among these, 16 groups are making their debut appearance this year, including such acclaimed, widely known performers from the U.S. as the John Burroughs High School Powerhouse Show Choir as well as the Louisiana State University Tiger Girls and Golden Girls dance teams, Majorettes Dixi from the Czech Republic, and the Peru Scissors Dance Troupe.

To facilitate coverage of the event, the HKTB has arranged satellite live feed (free to air) the program from 7:00 โ€“ 8:41 AM EST (20:00 โ€“ 21:41 HK Time) for use by television broadcasters worldwide. Please refer below for details.
