The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) has won the ISO international quality certificate ISO 9001:2008 in all its sectors and its PTO’s across the kingdom, as the first government entity.
Dr. Yosef bin Mohammad Al Yosef, Director of Administrative Development in SCTA, stated that the attainment of this certificate by SCTA comes as recognition to the advanced levels it enjoys in the area of administrative work and institutional Excellence. Dr. Yosef added that adoption of transparent, clear, and smooth mechanisms in all performance, maintaining international standards in execution of its assigned responsibilities, and meeting the requirements of the e-government transactions to make it a model for other government institutions to follow, qualified SCTA for this honor.
Dr. Yosef, said, “This recognition comes in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz, President of SCTA, who aims to achieve systematic institutional excellence internally and externally in SCTA’s work performance. SCTA has been awarded the ISO Certificate in all sectors in view of it adopting the best mechanism commensurate with its potentials and in line with the vision and aspirations for the future.”
Dr. Yosef said that the application of quality in SCTA, as well as receiving the ISO certificate, had passed through several stages: first, the application of quality system commenced in the President’s office and the support sector. The said departments were selected to obtain the certificate in the first phase of the program as the starting point for its ramifications into other sectors. Accordingly, SCTA got the ISO international quality certificates ISO 9001: 2000 for the Office of the President and the support sector on 25/12/2006, paving the way for other sectors to achieve this.
