(BWI), Boston, Mass., Buffalo, N.Y., Harrisburg, Pa., Newport News/Williamsburg, Va., New York, N.Y. As of 12 noon EST, on December 27, 2010, AirTran has canceled 57 flights for today system wide. Due to the large number of passengers affected by cancellations over the Christmas holiday weekend, the airline encourages passengers to use the airline’s website, www.airtran.com, to check flight status and rebook as passenger call volume is extremely high at 1-800-AIRTRAN (247-8726). If calling the reservation center for re-booking, please be patient.
