Precision Air to go first six then seven

UGANDA (eTN) – The Ugandan travel trade and business community were last week invited to a corporate dinner hosted by Precision Air of Tanzania in the presence of CEO Alfonse Kioko and the Acting High Commissioner of Tanzania to Uganda.

The airline presented their achievements made over the past year and also gave a sneak preview into their plans for the next five years, which will see their fleet grow yet further to facilitate ambitious network expansion plans for the wider region. Meanwhile, Ugandans were told that the airline will increase their frequencies between Kilimanjaro International/JRO and Entebbe from the present 5 a week to initially 6 by next year, before going daily sometime in 2012. Ultimately Precision intends to fly double daily between the two airports of Entebbe and Kilimanjaro/JRO, although this may be some time in the future and will to a part also depend on the internal borders between the East African member states being removed so that more domestic flights into the region, without customs and immigration controls, can encourage the growth of air traffic.

Precision Air currently uses one of their recently acquired new ATR 72-500s on the route between JRO and EBB, even offering an inflight entertainment system, which makes the slightly slower speeds of the turboprop compared with a jet easy to forget.
