Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities sponsors MOU to train national cadre

Under the sponsorship of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), represented by the National Project for Tourism Human Resources Development (Takamul), Hilton International Company, and Prince Sultan College of Tourism and Management in Jeddah, a cooperation agreement was signed to train and qualify a national cadre and enable them to obtain jobs in the tourism sector at Hilton hotels throughout the kingdom.

Mr. John Paul, General Manager of Middle East and North of Africa of Hilton Co., signed the agreement on behalf of Hilton Company, while Dr. Yaseen Al Jafri Dean of Prince Sultan College of Tourism and Management, Jeddah branch, signed on behalf of the collage. The agreement is set to start training 2,000 citizens from Makkah province during the coming period. Dr. Abdullah bin Sulaiman Al Washeel, Director General of Takamul stated: “SCTA represented by Takamul, held a number of meetings with senior officials from international hotel chains intending to operate in the kingdom. The meetings aimed at coordinating their efforts with SCTA on preparation of plans and programs to attract national human resources to benefit from job opportunities that will be provided by the expected large boost in the sector of hotel services in the kingdom.”

“Prince Sultan College of Tourism and Management in Jeddah, is recommended by SCTA based on the high quality of its output to cooperate with tourism’s different sectors in the kingdom for training and rehabilitating of national cadres,” added Dr. Al Washeel.
