Hapag-Lloyd has been supportive of the Seychelles with increased number of their cruise ships making Seychelles a stop on their itineraries. Seychelles is increasing their marketing action to ensure more cruise ships call at Seychelles and more joint marketing actions between the Seychelles Port Authority and the Seychelles Tourism Board is expected to be undertaken during 2011. The special Seychelles welcome for Ship Captains was an initiative of Mr. Ciseau of the Port Authority, which was welcomed by Mr. St.Ange of the Tourism Board, and both authorities have now agreed to maintain this initiative as it is people centered and in line with the “Seychelles brand” of tourism.

Seychelles is an ideal stop for cruise ships with many possible stops because of the diversity of the islands that make up the Seychelles. Seychelles also enjoys year-round summer making a port call interesting and pleasing at any time of the year.
