HONG KONG – New World Haikou Hotel, opening 2014 in Hainan’s fast-growing Haikou area, will be a 350-room, multi-storey deluxe hotel on Haikou bay, five minutes’ drive to the city centre. The ocean-facing hotel on its own beach will be designed as a refreshing Hainan destination alternative, to satisfy the needs of guests visiting for business, conferences and leisure.

The opening will reinforce New World Hotels’ strategic expansion plans in China, following recent announcements of New World Hotels properties and opening dates in Guiyang (2011), Beijing (2012); Shenyang (2013), and Qingyuan (2014).

New World Haikou Hotel will be part of a multi-use complex of residential units and serviced apartments, convention centre, retail outlets and cultural centre.

To fulfil its meeting and conference potential, the hotel will offer a total of 1,700 square metres of meeting space, including an 800-square-metre ballroom and six function rooms, and also be linked to a substantial meeting and convention centre.

The high and low-rise design of the hotel, enhanced by a landscape of lush foliage, will complement the lagoon-like setting and local design vernacular. Twelve guest villas will feature private, oceanfront plunge pools.

A cafe, Chinese restaurant, seafood restaurant, lobby lounge and poolside restaurant and bar will incorporate ocean views, terraces, open-air features or skylights to take advantage of the beachfront, lagoon-like setting. Other facilities will include a free-standing Club lounge, signature wedding pavilion, health club, standalone spa, free-form swimming pool, tennis court and dedicated recreation areas for children and teenagers.

Favoured by business travellers and meeting planners, New World Hotels are deluxe properties located in Dalian, Shanghai, Wuhan, Ho Chi Minh City and Manila, with two affiliated hotels in Shenyang and Shunde. The hotels offer a full range of relevant amenities and services, including multiple restaurants, business services, extensive meeting facilities, executive floors and recreational options. New World Hotels, one of Hong Kong-based New World Hospitality’s growing portfolio of brands, is targeted to more than double in size by 2015.
