HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman, the SCTA Secretary General, signed a contract with one of the national organizations to study the development of Jubbah old town in Hail Province. Dr. Ali Al-Ghabban, the deputy Secretary General for antiquities and museums, clarified that the qualification project of old Jubbah aims at developing it in conformity with Jubbah historical and natural prestige. Also, the purpose of project is making Jubbah an economic resource for the local community and a source of job opportunities through making use of the distinguished tourism potentials. Moreover, the project aims at preserving Jubbah cultural and historical identity, organizing the old center in Jubbah, minimizing the visual pollution, qualifying the archeological site in Jabal Um Sanman.

Dr. Al-Ghabban pointed out that the SCTA, according to directions of the board of directors in its tenth session held on 21/2/1425H, works as a connection between the public and private sectors. The SCTA works on developing the public tourism places and destinations though effective partnership with the government bodies, supervising and transforming the tourism sites into integrated tourism destinations. That could be achieved through the suitable investment policies to employ the archeological sites, urban heritage sites, handicrafts, and the tangible and intangible traditional heritage (cuisines, drinks, clothes, customs, arts, and sports) in the tourism development fields.

Dr. Al-Ghabban explained the work fields focus on the SMEs (like the handicrafts) that depend mainly on using the work element, increasing the SMEs’ contribution in the national economy and provision of job opportunities.
