Seychelles covered in Arabian Travel News 2010 as Paradise Found

The Destination Report in the Arabian Travel News Magazine of November 2010 was centered on Seychelles. The six-page report of this respected magazine, published at the crucial time for WTM 2010, was written by Monika Grzesik, the respected Editor of the magazine herself.

“Paradise Found” is the title of the six-page report on Seychelles where Monika Grzesik writes, “With its pristine beaches and cobalt blue waters, it’s no wonder the Seychelles has caught the imagination of the Middle East market.” The Editor of the Arabian Travel News Magazine toured the Seychelles recently and reported on the Creole tropical islands of the Seychelles as follows: “We’ve all dreamed about it – jetting off to an island paradise of deserted, turquoise blue waters, and a blessed-out island vibe. And the Seychelles: an archipelago of 115 islands scattered in the Indian Ocean – certainly doesn’t disappoint.”

The Arabian Travel News confirmed in its November issue that demand for the Seychelles from Middle East travelers has started to take off in the past two years, and that it’s no wonder because the Seychelles are but a four-and-a-half-hour flight from the Gulf and that these islands enjoy a beautiful year-round climate, no time difference from the Gulf, and with some stunning hotel properties. Monika Grzesik of the Arabian Travel News wrote that the Seychelles is an ideal short-break destination for switching off and getting away from it all, while the dream-like setting has made it a top choice for honeymooners, too.

In the Seychelles Report, Arabian Travel News publishes an interview with Alain St.Ange, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board and eTurboNews ambassador, where Mr. St.Ange emphasizes the “personalized” island welcome that awaits visitors to the Seychelles. The Seychelles Tourism CEO speaks of the growing closeness between the Middle East, and the Seychelles is leading to a surge in visitors to the islands.

In the interview published by the Arabian Travel News, Alain St.Ange said about the Middle east Market: “This is a market that’s a close neighbor of Seychelles – it’s only four-and-a-half hours away. The Middle East community is at home here.”

When asked by the Arabian Travel News Magazine how important the Middle East market was to Seychelles tourism, Alain St.Ange, the CEO of Seychelles Tourism, said that, and here we quote: “It’s very important, because the diversification of Seychelles tourism is important. We are a small country, and we need to keep telling the world we are friend of all and enemies of none. We need the whole world to come in small numbers. Seychelles is not a mass tourism destination. The best way to describe what we offer is ‘personalised tourism.’ When you come you are not just a number.”

Seychelles has been one of the talked about destination at the 2010 World Travel Market (WTM) Tourism Trade Fair in London, because it is today clear that these island have shown that their innovative approach in managing their industry through a public/private sector partnership has worked. For these mid-ocean paradise islands, tourism remains the pillar of their economy, and they can today be seen as a test case study for public/private sector partnership for the tourism industry.
