A program Preserves Traditional Village in Aseer Province

HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman, the SCTA Secretary General, previewed the traditional village projects in Aseer Province.

HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman, the SCTA Secretary General, previewed the traditional village projects in Aseer Province. The villages are qualified within traditional village program being carried out by the SCTA in cooperation with the MoMRA and a number of bodies.

During a meeting held in Abha Palace hotel, HRH Prince Sultan highlighted the significance of public private stakeholders’ roles in the investment in traditional village development. HRH stated that such investment is one of the most important means with economic, social, and cultural return since it will increase the national workforce, strengthen the sustainable development, and encourage implementation of SMEs.

Within the meeting, HRH saw the presentations of traditional villages in Rijal Alma governorate and Al-Namas in Aseer Province. HRH urged to join efforts to preserve the historical inheritance and urban heritage of Aseer and to speed up the achievement of village development works. HRH saw a presentation about qualifying the traditional villages in Al-Namas governorate (Al-Namas old village). The project includes a restoration of paths, lighting, landscaping, and provision of public services at the location.

It is worth mentioning that the SCTA has selected five villages and towns in the first phase of the program including Al-Ghat old town in Riyadh Province, Al-Ola old town in Maddinah Province, Rijal Alma village in Aseer, Jubbah old town in Hail, and Thee Ayn village in Baha Province.
