When the Creole Islands of the Seychelles were being presented to the American Market at a function jointly organized by Ambassador Ronny Jumeau, the Seychelles permanent representative to the United Nations and ambassador accredited to the USA, and Mr. Justin Etzin, the Seychelles consul in the USA, it was the known New York model, Fatihah Saahir, who was on hand for photo opportunities.

Mr. Danny Faure, the Seychelles Vice President; Mr. Jean Paul Adam, the Minister of Foreign Affairs; and Mr. Peter Sinon, the Minister responsible for Investments were all in New York accompanied by Mrs. Sherin Renaud, the CEO of the Seychelles Investment Bureau; Mr. Alain St.Ange, CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board and eTurboNews ambassador; and Mr. Steve Fanny, the CEO of the Seychelles International Business Authority to present Seychelles at the First Economic Forum and were guests at the Etzin New York Property to spread the news about the Creole Islands appeal to the American market.

The CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board Alain St.Ange, supported by USA model Fatihah Saahir, has used that opportunity to launch the Seychelles 2011 “Carnaval International de Victoria” concept to the Americas. The same message had also been echoed by Vice President Danny Faure and by the Tourism CEO Alain St.Ange when they addressed the Seychelles Economic Forum earlier the same day.

The 2011 Seychelles Carnaval will be held in Victoria from March 4-6, 2011 under the theme “The melting Pot of Cultures” to replay the settlement of the Indian Ocean Creole Islands with people from all colors, rave, and religion. The Seychelles Islands, refered to as the land of perpetual summer because of its year-round summer climate, is preparing itself to welcome Carnaval Floats from many fun-loving countries and navy ships from friendly countries. “This Carnaval is the chance for Africa to come together to showcase its midocean islands,” Alain St.Ange said when visiting South Africa recently to promote the carnival.

Seychelles Tourism is the main pillar of these island’s economy and its foreign embassies have joined forces with their Tourism Board to work in synergy to get Seychelles to bevisible in Countries where the Seychelles have a diplomatic presence. The pulling of resources, the preparation of a Tourism master Plan, and a new policy now centered on ‘people’ are all part of what these midocean islands are calling the ‘Seychelles Brand’ of Tourism, a style launched by the island’s President James Michel after he personally took over the tourism portfolio.
