2nd Arab Tourism Investment Forum concludes in Yemen

SANA’A, Yemen – Participants in the 2nd Arab Tourism Investment Forum stressed on Sunday the need to urge Arab governments to support the tourism investment.

SANA’A, Yemen – Participants in the 2nd Arab Tourism Investment Forum stressed on Sunday the need to urge Arab governments to support the tourism investment.

The Forum, organized over two days by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the Arab Tourism Ministers’ Council and the Arab Tourism Organization ATO, was concluded in Sana’a today.

The participants emphasized the importance of developing effective treatments for the problem of lands granted for the tourism investment within a clear vision and mechanism published at the level of various media.

They renewed their call for Arab investors to hold continuous meetings to identify Arab tourism investment opportunities and invited them to participate effectively in meetings and conferences dealing with the field of tourism investment.

Also, they called on Arab governments and Arab investors to care for employing the historical monuments in the field of tourism investment.

They noted the need to communicate with the international institutions, in forefront of the International Finance Corporation, to get their support for investments in the tourism sector, and to focus on the sustainable human development in this sector.

Moreover, the participants urged Arab investors to invest in the establishment of tourist hotel training and rehabilitation centers.

They stressed the importance of urging Arab government to give considerable attention to the legal reforms relating to regulate possession of lands allocated for the tourism projects.

In addition, they emphasized the Arab governments to adopt legislations that grant investors in the tourism sector additional and distinct incentives that reduce the risk in the tourism investment as well as the time period to recover the capital.

The participants recommended the ATO to develop a practical mechanism for the implementation and realization of the recommendations that came out of the Forum.

Arab Tourism Ministers, tourism and investment organizations, ATO, tourism and aviation companies, environment companies and organizations and project financiers discussed in the Forum a number of topics relating to the tourism investment in the Arab world.
