Indian budget airline Spicejet has announced that Neil Raymond Mills has joined Spicejet as its chief executive officer with effect from 11 October 2010.

Bloomberg reports that Mills joins SpiceJet from Dubai-based low-fare airline FlyDubai, where he was chief financial officer. His appointment follows the departure of SpiceJetโ€™s previous CEO Sanjay Aggarwal, who joined as head of rival Kingfisher Airlines Ltd.

SpiceJet, the only listed Indian carrier to post an annual profit last fiscal year, said in July that it will buy 30 Boeing Co. 737-800 aircraft. It currently operates 141 flights daily with 22 planes.
