BTC takes events to TTG Incontri

Meeting Time, the new workshop dedicated to the meetings industry, will be held on October 22-23 at the Fiera di Rimini Exhibition Centre as part of TTG Incontri, Italy’s leading B2B tourism show.

Wholly designed and organised by BTC, the Italian trade show for the meetings,
events, conferences, incentive travel, and business tourism industry, Meeting Time takes a selection of top sellers of event products and services right into the heart of the tourism market, maximizing the synergies between buyers’ interests and responding to operators’ business development needs.

“An analysis of TTG Incontri visitor profiles reveals a growing interest among
tourism operators for event-related products and services,” said Gabriella Ghigi, BTC exhibition manager. “According to the latest figures, in 2009, 1,700 visitors to the show were interested in meeting and selecting specialized suppliers to respond specifically to the increasingly high expectations of event buyers: top professionalism, maximum price/quality ratio, and innovative ideas to design events packed with excitement and experiences. Hence the Meeting Time project, which was launched to satisfy this need for increasingly broad synergies.”

Meeting Time boasts a specialized and exclusive character: it will be held in an elegant lounge, reserved for a limited number of sellers, and attended by Italian and European hosted buyers. “We chose the workshop format in order to relieve exhibitors of the burden of managing a stand and leave them free to concentrate on the essence of personal meetings with buyers, which is what most interests us,” explained Gabriella Ghigi. “The deliberately restricted size of Meeting Time also enables us to keep the quality of the event high.”

BTC is capitalizing on its knowledge of the meetings, events, conferences, and
incentive travel market, taking to Meeting Time a selection of corporate and
agency buyers with proven buying power: two thirds are Italian, and a third
come from Europe’s major markets. Sellers include leading names such as Accor
Hospitality Italia, Best Western Italia, ITI Hotels, Going, and Turom Viaggi.
Meetings are reserved for buyers and sellers registered at Meeting Time and are organized through a system of pre-scheduled appointments (32 in 2 days), but TTG Incontri visitors interested in the offer of Meeting Time exhibitors may make appointments at the workshop reception, subject to availability.

With Meeting Time, BTC confirms its commitment to being a show tailored to the
needs of industry operators and professionals, providing continuity with the market beyond the date of the show itself (June 30-July 1, 2011 at Fiera di Rimini). Two dates have already been fixed after Meeting Time: MICE Day Rome on November 3, and MICE Day Milan on November 4.
