Seychelles 2010 Underwater Festival SUBIOS image and film contest launched

SEYCHELLES – The 2010 edition of the Seychelles Underwater Festival (SUBIOS), will be held from October 1-3, 2010 under the theme: Seas of A Thousand Species.

SEYCHELLES – The 2010 edition of the Seychelles Underwater Festival (SUBIOS), will be held from October 1-3, 2010 under the theme: Seas of A Thousand Species. Among the activities being organized to mark the event is a film and photography competition. There are three categories to participate in: best image, best video, and best unedited video (for local residents). With interesting prizes to be won, both local and overseas enthusiasts are being encouraged to take part.

Prizes include trophies and return airfares to the Seychelles for international participants, while local participants can win air tickets to take part in an overseas underwater festival. SUBIOS is an annual celebration of marine and sea life. This year will see the festival take a bigger dimension for mass participation with three days of celebrations planned around the Beau Vallon Beach on the main island of Mahe.
