TUCSON, Ariz. โ€” A Texas man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty of traveling to Mexico to have sex with children.

Kristofer Kevin Christoferson of Brownsville received his sentenced Tuesday in Tucson.

Prosecutors say the 49-year-old Christoferson communicated with an undercover immigration agent in late 2007, believing the agent was a purveyor of sex tours in Mexico.

They say Christoferson arranged for a two-day trip asking to be provided with girls ages 5 to 9.

Christoferson was arrested in Tucson on his way to Mexico from Brownsville. Agents also found child pornography in his home.

After Christoferson serves 10 years, he will be on supervised release for the rest of his life with what the judge called a number of “stringent” sex offender conditions.
