The passenger was an 80-year-old man who suffered a heart attack during the British Airways flight. The cabin crew administered CPR for 40 minutes but was not able to resuscitate the man. He died an hour before landing in Thailand.

The flight departed Heathrow Airport yesterday at 5:10 pm. Upon landing in Bangkok, the flight was delayed by 45 minutes. The return flight to London was also delayed by 2 hours.

British Airways has not released any other details about the death. A spokesperson for BA said, โ€œOur thoughts are with his family and friends.โ€

British Airways had to make an emergency landing in August of this year when smoked engulfed the airplane cabin. The flight was forced to land in Valencia, where passengers escaped the aircraft using an evacuation slide.
