MONTREAL — A Quebec charter airline is appealing a Transport Canada decision to ground its planes because of safety concerns.

MONTREAL — A Quebec charter airline is appealing a Transport Canada decision to ground its planes because of safety concerns.

The government agency announced over the weekend that it was revoking Aeropro’s operating permit.

Aeropro says it will seek to have the decision overturned this week before the Transportation Appeal Tribunal of Canada.

Two leading aviation industry groups have come out to publicly question the decision, which they call unfair.

The company’s permit fell under scrutiny following a June crash that killed seven people.

Aeropro employs 250 people from its offices in Quebec City.
