Milwaukee flooding forces flight cancellations

Due to flooding in the Milwaukee area and expected additional rain, all flights to and from General Mitchell International Airport have been cancelled through 12:00 pm. Central Daylight Time.

Due to flooding in the Milwaukee area and expected additional rain, all flights to and from General Mitchell International Airport have been cancelled through 12:00 pm. Central Daylight Time. Additional cancellations may occur depending on weather conditions throughout the day.

Powerful thunderstorms caused widespread flooding in southern Wisconsin, closing down the airport and opening up a giant sink hole. Wwo people were hospitalized after being struck by lightning.

Passengers scheduled for travel to or from Milwaukee on July 23, 2010, on AirTran Airways may change their reservation without penalty as long as travel is completed within five days from the date of the original scheduled departure date, based on space availability, without fees or fare adjustments.
