Iran to host 2nd meeting of WTO Committee on Tourism Ethics

Director general for planning of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization said that Iran will play host to 2nd meeting of World Tourism Organization (WTO) Committee on Tourism Ethics.

The majorities of participants in the 6th session of WTO Tourism Committee voted for Iran to host the 2nd CTE session expected to be held in October 2008, Mohammad-Ali Pakseresht told IRNA in Spanish capital, Madrid.

At the invitation of WTO President, Francesco Franjiali, Pakseresht has participated in Madrid session on behalf of the South Asian Countries.

The first session of Committee on Tourism Ethics is due to be held in Italy at a date to be determined by WTO.

The 6th two-day session of the WTO Committee on Tourism Ethics opened in the Spanish capital on Friday.

Addressing the session, Pakseresht outlined the stance of the South Asian countries on tourism ethics.

Referring to the Islamic-Iranian culture and civilization he outlined Iran’s activities in the field of tourism industry for the participants representing the five continents of the world.
