From eBay to Orbitz – Chris Orton hired as new chief marketing officer

CHICAGO, Illinois – Orbitz Worldwide, Inc. announced today announced that it has appointed a new chief marketing officer with immediate effect.

CHICAGO, Illinois – Orbitz Worldwide, Inc. announced today announced that it has appointed a new chief marketing officer with immediate effect. Chris Orton, from eBay, has been named to fill the post.

Prior to joining Orbitz, Chris was senior director of Internet marketing at eBay, Inc., responsible for the company’s paid search, shopping comparison, search engine optimization, affiliates, and display marketing channels. Chris also led an initiative to make eBay’s Internet marketing services available to third party clients. Chris joined eBay in 2003 after 8 years of CRM and ERP consulting at Kana Software, PriceWaterhouseCoopersm and Andersen Consulting (Accenture). Chris has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in economics and international relations from the University of California, Davis.
