18 tourism festivals brighten the Saudi summer

Eighteen tourism festivals are set for the Saudi summer 2010 throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Eighteen tourism festivals are set for the Saudi summer 2010 throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These festivals will include hundreds of entertainment, sports, culture, and heritage events designed to fulfill the expectations and aspirations of all members of the family.

The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) in this context launched a special promotional campaign for the 2010 summer vacation, which will last for 5 weeks starting from June 14, 2010 up to July 20, 2010. The promotional campaign titled โ€œIn summer… think of the Kingdom,โ€ coincides with the developed identity of Saudi tourism: โ€œSaudi Tourism… rich of diversity,” which was introduced as the unique identity for marketing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a tourism destination.

SUMMER FESTIVALS 2010:

RIYADH FESTIVAL FOR SHOPPING AND ENTERTAINMENT
Starts on June 27, 2010
This festival will last for one month, in which 19 malls and entertainment centers will participate, including 250 events designed to suit all social groups.

JEDDAH GAIR FESTIVAL 31
Starts on July 7, 2010
Contains several cultural, entertaining, and sport events.

AL TAIF 23RD SUMMER FESTIVAL

Eastern Province has concluded its preparations for summer events. Al Damam is expected to witness the Eastern Province Summer Festival, which will include a series of programs and festivals designed especially for the residents and visitors of the province.

AL AHSA 2010 SUMMER FESTIVAL
Starts on July 2, 2010
His Highness Prince Badr bin Mohammad bin Abdulla bin Jalawi, Mayor of Al Ahsa municipality, will kick off under the slogan, โ€œHasana Fullah 5.โ€ The festival is scheduled to be commenced by a national operetta to mark the 100-year anniversary since King Abdul Aziz regained Al Ahsa.

ABHA SHOPPING FESTIVAL
Starts on July 7, 2010
Prince Faisal bin Khalid, Amir of Asir, chairman of Tourism Development Council, will inaugurate the events of the festival in its second year at the Center of International Exhibitions next to the airport.

The Steering Committee of Hail 31 Summer Festival, which is held under the theme โ€œWelcome to summer and welcome to the guest,โ€ has determined the festival to be launched on July 7 at Al Magwat Entertainment and Tourist Park. The festival is expected to include a large number of events and activities throughout Hail.

Najran Summer Festival will also be launched on July 7, 2010, and the events include the Najran Heritage Carnival, which illustrates tourism and heritage potentials of Najran province.

Al Qaseem province will witness conduction of three summer festivals in Buraidah, Oniza, and Al Mthnab. Al Qaseem is the only place that will witness this large number of festivals. Buraidah festival will be launched on June 30, 2010 and will last until July 23, 2010 and will include various events which will be held in different locations such as Al Ogailat, King Khalid Civilization Center, and Equestrian Court. The Oniza festival will be launched on July 7, 2010 and will last up to August 1, 2010, while the Al Mthnab festival will be held on June 30, 2010.

Under the slogan โ€œAl Bah the Summit of Tourism,โ€ the Al Baha summer festival will be held this year. The festival aims to encourage tourism activity throughout Al Baha province through many social, cultural, sport and entertainment tourism programs.

On June 29, 2010, Tabuk province will launch its summer festival under the patronage of HRH Prince Fahad bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Amir of Tabuk. The festival will last for one month. The Tourism Development Council in Tabuk seeks through this festival to support tourism tendency in the province by providing a number of diverse and rich tourism, cultural, and social events.

On July 13, 2010, Al Madina province will launch 200 special events related to the summer festival this year under the slogan โ€œGathering of You Loved Ones,โ€ which will last for three weeks. The events will be organized by different public and private sectors designed to suit different aspirations of societyโ€™s groups.
