The 24th edition of ITE and the 5th edition of ITE MICE, or in short as ITE & MICE 2010 had 11,464 trade and corporate visitors (+2 percent), with respectively 17 percent and 9 percent from mainland China and abroad. This travel expo covers these fast-growing markets and Hong Kong.

By sectors, some 5,500 of visitors during trade days are travel agents or operators; over 2,800 are corporate visitors; and 800 are from the media. Significantly, online pre-registrations for all corporate travel seminars this year rose some 35 percent, while the training seminar by the Asia Cruise Association was 50 percent over-subscribed and pre-registration was suspended.

The last two days of the expo, which is open to public, drew 68,900 visitors (+7 percent) this year. Findings of previous surveys indicate some 70 percent of all public visitors preferred traveling in FIT or tailor-made groups and they testified to their high quality.

Next year’s ITE & MICE will be held from June 9-12, 2011 at Halls 1A-1E, Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center. ITE & ITE MICE is supported by the China National Tourism Administration, Hong Kong Tourism Board, and the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong.

Despite uncertainties in the world economy, ITE & MICE this year had 625 exhibitors (+2.5 percent), and they came from 46 countries and regions. Sixteen of the exhibitors were newly-participating countries/cities, mostly from Europe and the Middle East, such as Croatia, Israel, Jordan, Poland, Slovakia, UK, and Armenia. Overall, there were some 30 official/special-themed pavilions. Also new this year was a geo-park theme pavilion on eco-tourism, while themes like MICE, cruise, and wellness and medical tourism were also highlighted.
